How to prepare for a massage

Pick your pressure, name your tight spots and wear clothes that are easy to change out of.

A short checklist

  1. Decide your pressure. Light, medium or firm is enough to start, and you can change it later.
  2. Think of the spots. Shoulders, low back, feet: wherever you want the time spent.
  3. Wear something comfortable that you can change out of easily.
  4. Mention anything relevant: allergies to oils or lotions, areas to avoid, an injury or health condition.
  5. Plan to speak up. Lighter, firmer, a pause or a quiet session are all fair requests.
