What is reflexology?

Reflexology is pressure on the feet, sometimes the hands and ears, following a map of points.

Scientific support for that map is limited, and we make no health claims for it. A session is time spent on your feet, at the pressure you choose.

What a session involves

A practitioner presses and rubs points on the soles, sides and tops of the feet, usually with thumbs and fingers. Charts differ from one school to the next, and some also cover the hands or ears.

How much science supports it

We treat reflexology as a tradition, not medicine. For a health concern, ask a healthcare provider.

People book it for a simpler reason: they want someone to spend time on their feet.

Reflexology at Wonder Spa

The calendar lists Reflexology, and we describe it as our foot massage. The foot massage page has the details. Want a session that follows a particular chart? Ask when you call; the menu name doesn't settle it.

Reflexology questions

Is reflexology the same as a foot massage?

Not strictly. Reflexology works from a map of points; a foot massage works the foot itself. At Wonder Spa, Reflexology is the name of our foot massage service.

Can I choose how firm it is?

Yes. Tell your therapist the pressure you like, any areas to skip, and whether your feet are ticklish. You can ask for a change at any point.

Can I get reflexology and a body massage in one visit?

Book the foot and body massage. It splits one appointment between your feet and a body massage; ask when you book how the time is divided.

What should I wear for reflexology?

Something comfortable that gives access to your feet and lower legs. Our what to wear guide has the general etiquette.
